MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A light plane hit a Texas television station tower Wednesday night, killing the pilot and knocking the station off the air.
“A single-engine Piper PA-46 crashed as its pilot was on approach to Preston Smith International Airport in the city of Lubbock,” the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported.
The plane struck the KCBD News Channel 11 tower, the Lubbock Fire Department said on its its Facebook page, confirming one fatality.

The KCBD-TV said that plane knocked the station off the air. No one at the station was injured. The FAA is investigating the incident.
