"Information disseminated over news and social media outlets about the king's participation in airstrikes against [ISIL] is false," Momeni was quoted as saying by Anadolu Agency.
The statement was made amid information online that the king would personally participate in anti-ISIL airstrikes on Thursday after Jordanian pilot Muath Kasaesbeh was killed by Islamic State militants.
Media reports suggested Thursday that presently Jordan was considering a ground military campaign against Islamic State, although previously it had limited its role to airstrikes.
On Thursday, it was also reported that Jordanian authorities had carried out airstrikes targeting Islamic State positions in Syria. The country's fighter jets are said to have flown over Kasaesbeh's hometown in a tribute to the pilot following their mission.
Kasaesbeh had been held hostage by Islamic State jihadist group since December after his plane crashed in ISIL-controlled territory in Syria. The Jordanian government had demanded the pilot's release before he was murdered and expressed readiness to exchange him for a failed Iraqi suicide bomber, but received no reply from the militants.
