Israeli’s Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman displayed copies of the latest issue of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo on Thursday in Tel Aviv apparently as part of his pre-election campaign, according to media reports.
Members of far-right Yisrael Beitenu party set up a stall in the center of the city and displayed Charlie Hebdo copies for public perusal.
The stall did not distribute copies after the party received a warning from the electoral commission that "giving out gifts" could be qualified as bribery.
A snap general election in Israel is scheduled to March 17.
