MUNICH (Sputnik) — US Secretary of State John Kerry will hold a bilateral meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Zarif on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference on Friday, a source in the US delegation told Sputnik.
"[The meeting] will start at 4:30 p.m. [15:30 GMT] today," the source told Sputnik Friday.
Earlier today, Zarif said he would hold bilateral meetings with the representatives of the P5+1 group of international negotiators in Munich, including French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond.
The Iranian minister is also likely to hold a one-on-one meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, but no official confirmation has been made.
The Munich Security Conference, established in 1963, is taking place from February 6 to 8. The conference is an international discussion forum to promote international cooperation in tackling major security challenges.
