A three-year-old mutt by the name of Medo is stuck in a barn all night in the northern Croatia town of Peroj after his owner’s neighbor went to court to shut him up.
The neighbor was alleging that the dog was affecting her health by barking non-stop, but Medo’s owner says the dog is just doing what normal dogs do: bark at something or someone he doesn’t know, and it’s not true he barks all the time.
In fact, Medo’s owner says, his dog started barking only after the neighbor started teasing him.
But the neighbor appears to have won out – at least for now—with a judge saying that Medo has to stop barking at night or the owners has to pay some $3,160.
So that means that Medo is confined to the barn from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.
A local court still has to make a final decision. The aggrieved neighbor is seeking about $1,580 in damages.
Medo is now a social media star, thanks to this whole incident. His fans set up a Facebook page that has more than 43,000 “likes” and dozens of dog pictures.
