KIEV/DONETSK, February 10 (Sputnik) – Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said Tornado missiles were fired at the Ukrainian special operations headquarters near Kramatorsk, but independence supporters immediately denied the president’s claim.
“A multiple Tornado rockets were fired for 25 minutes at Sarmat in Kramatorsk, our main headquarters for the anti-terrorist operation,” Poroshenko said during a speech in the country’s parliament.
“The headquarters was struck, but a second round a residential area in Kramatorsk,” he said.
Independence supporters from the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic immediately denied the president’s claim.
“We have not fired any weapons towards Kramatorsk,” a DPR headquarters commander told RIA Novosti.
