The offices of the Australian Federal police and the Queensland Police in the city of Brisbane were placed on lockdown after receiving a bomb threat.

The headquarters of the Australian Federal Police in the city of Brisbane was placed on lockdown after receiving a bomb threat via the the National Security Hotline. An anonymous call prompted the officers to conduct a sweep of the building. No suspicious items were found as police sniffer dogs checked the area.

The lockdown has already been lifted. The Australian Federal police have launched an investigation to determine the source of the phone call.

The Queensland Police headquarters in Brisbane remain on partial lockdown.

In January, AFP increased terrorism threat level against police in the country to "high" amid terror attacks in France, Canada and Australia.

"As a result of intelligence information and discussions with our partners, the terrorism threat level against police is assessed as high, which is commensurate with the broader threat level for the community," the police said in a press release.
