A commission of the Russian Southern Military District headed by Commander Colonel General Alexander Galkin will check the combat readiness of the Black Sea Fleet forces during upcoming staff training, the district’s press office reports in a statement.
The training of the Black Sea Fleet forces began Friday and will run until Saturday.
During these two days, the military administration office and its naval, aerial and coastal units will be checked for their readiness to accomplish their missions.
"Special focus will be on the newly formed forces and units of the Crimean naval base, the surface ship division, the naval and air defense aviation at Gvardeyskoe, Belbek, Saki and Kacha airfields. The commission will also check artillery, air defense and ground units of the Coastal forces of the Black Sea Fleet," the statement says.
