Workers Strike in Paris Airports: Flight Delays, Cancelations Expected
Paris airport workers, who walked out from their jobs on Thursday, continue their strike on Friday, Le Figaro reports.

The number of flights at Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle, Orly and Le Bourgot airports have been reduced by 20 percent. Delays and cancelations are expected in all three airports.

Throughout the second half of Thursday, all incoming and outgoing flights at Charles-de-Gaulle airport were delayed by 25-30 minutes on average.

According to Le Figaro, nearly 300 workers gathered near flight terminals at Charles-de-Gaulle on Thursday afternoon. Airport workers on strike held a banner that read: “Let’s face the unjust austerity.”

All three Paris airports are managed by Aeroports de Paris (ADP) group. Workers are striking after the company’s management decided to freeze their salaries in 2015, although a last week financial report showed that the company made at least $400 million in profit last year. A representative of the General Confederation of Labor (CFT), a national trade union center in France, said workers want to have a bigger share of the company’s profit. Previously, it was reported that over 60 percent of all the profit will go to shareholders and workers were not happy about that.
