Federal Security Service (FSB) agents in St. Petersburg detained on Thursday a local man suspected of inciting extremism in public.
The man, whose name is not mentioned, is suspected of involvement in the creation in the social network VKontakte of the Russian Right Sector group.
The group published extremist articles and called for public support for Ukraine’s Right Sector organization, which is outlawed in Russia.
Late last year Russia banned the Ukrainian Right Sector, the Ukrainian National Assembly – Ukrainian Self-Defense (UNA-UNSO), the Ukrainian Insurgent Army and several other radical groups.
