Germany has withdrawn diplomatic staff from Sanaa, Yemen, on Friday due to the deteriorating security situation and political crisis in the country, Germany’s Federal Foreign Office posted on its Twitter page.
#Yemen: Due to the volatile security situation, our Embassy in #Sanaa is temporarily closed. Our colleagues left the country this morning.

Diplomatic workers were evacuated as the political situation dramatically worsened after the rebellious Houthis gained control over predominantly Sunni regions of central and western Yemen and took over the presidential palace in Sana’a last month.
The withdrawal of the diplomatic staff is said to be temporary.
A few days earlier, the US, UK and France also announced closure of their embassies in the country.
