New England Can’t Win: New Week, New Blizzard Arriving

The New England Patriots won the Super Bowl last month (some might prefer to say the Seahawks lost) but in the weather game, Boston and environs have taken tackle after tackle.

While the region has already experienced record-setting snowfall in the last few weeks, there is no rest for the weary and another dumping is on the way. Boston has seen 6 feet (1.8 meters) of snow since late January but the city is now bracing for as much as 14 inches (36 cm) of fresh powder arriving imminently.

The weather has taken an economic toll as restaurants and hotels saw business decline and, keeping with the pattern, thousands of flights have already been canceled this weekend. The public transportation system has already shut down a few times in the last few weeks and stoppage is already planned for Sunday.

Despite being already a quarter into their semesters, some area college classes have not even met yet since the blizzards seem to keep to a regular Monday schedule.

However not everyone in New England is unhappy with the weather. This meteorologist enjoys it quite a lot:
