Britain's biggest supermarket chain, Tesco, will cut up to 10,000 jobs in a bid to try to stop a slide in profits, news reports said on Sunday.
The move comes after Tesco postponed plans to open 49 new stores, instead saying that at least 43 stores will be closed and that 2,000 jobs will be axed.
Right now, Tesco has 310,000 staff in 3,330 stores.
