DONETSK, (Sputnik) — The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) monitoring mission in Ukraine and the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) worked out a procedure to ensure safe transportation of the monitors, DPR negotiator Denis Pushilin told RIA Novosti on Sunday.
A meeting between representatives of the DPR and the OSCE resulted in a "mechanism of the OSCE mission's safe transportation escorted by DPR police," Pushilin said.
He added that the new procedure will take effect on Monday.
Earlier in the week, Kiev forces and eastern Ukraine's independence militias agreed on a ceasefire deal, which entered force on Sunday.
According to the agreement, the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine should provide efficient monitoring of both sides' compliance with the truce.
The mission has been operating in the area since March 2014, providing daily reports on the situation.
