DONETSK (Sputnik) — The authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) have recorded three shellings of the Donbas town of Horlivka by the Ukrainian army on Sunday evening, DPR envoy Denis Pushilin said.
“Three shellings of Horlivka by Ukrainian armed forces have been registered. One shell has hit the Emergencies Ministry’s base in Kalinovka area. As a result the building’s roof was damaged. The residential areas of the town’s Central and Perovo neighbourhoods were also hit. This is what causes the greatest concerns,” Pushilin said as quoted by the Donetsk news agency.
Earlier Pushilin said that on Sunday evening Kiev forces began to shell Horlivka and that he had contacted the representatives of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) regarding the matter.
At midnight, local time on February 15 (February 14, 22:00 GMT) the ceasefire between Kiev forces and the independence supporters of southeastern Ukraine have entered in force, as was agreed at the February 12 meeting between the leaders of Ukraine, France and Germany and Russia.
The truce in Donbas is one of the measures agreed at the Minsk reconciliation talks. Other agreements include withdrawal of heavy artillery, prisoner exchange and changes to Ukraine's constitution.
