MOSCOW (Sputnik) — British Prime Minister David Cameron and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said in a phone conversation Monday that the talks on Ukraine conflict settlement are showing signs of progress, prime minister's office said in a statement.
"The Prime Minister and UN Secretary General agreed that negotiations [on Ukraine reconciliation] were making progress, noting that the latest draft resolution importantly underlines the need to fully respect Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity," the statement read.
The ceasefire between Kiev-led forces and Donbas militia was one of the agreements brokered by the leaders of Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France during marathon talks in Minsk on February 12.
Other provisions stipulate the pullback of heavy artillery from the line of contact within two weeks and all-for-all prisoners swap.
Sunday, the head of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Ertugrul Apakan said that the truce was generally holding.
