At least 300 Boko Haram militants have been killed by the army in northeastern Nigeria's Borno State, sources said.
An army spokesman said claimed that the militants were killed as the troops recaptured the garrison town of Monguno in Borno.
There was no independent confirmation of the claims that come after similar allegations on Boko Haram casualties by Niger, Chad and Cameroon.
