WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Ukrainian crisis will be a key topic of discussion at the upcoming meeting between US State Secretary John Kerry and UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond in London, US State Department Spokesperson Jen Psaki said on Friday.
“Obviously, with the United Kingdom… I certainly expect Ukraine will be one on top of the agenda,” Psaki told journalists during a press briefing.
Kerry will travel to London on Saturday to discuss with Hammond bilateral and international issues, according to the State Department.
The ceasefire between the warring sides in Ukraine, elaborated by the leaders of Ukraine, France, Germany and Russia in Minsk, came into effect on Sunday. However, both parties to the conflict have accused each other of truce violations.
Eastern Ukrainian militias signed a heavy weapons withdrawal plan with the Kiev government on Friday.
The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe’s Deputy Chief Monitor for the monitoring mission in Ukraine, Alexander Hug, said that the prospects for the pullout of heavy artillery in Donbas region were good, and the sides were working on the plans for withdrawal.
