“February 23-27, Assistant Secretary Rose will meet with senior Japanese officials on issues including space security, strategic stability, extended deterrence and multilateral arms control in Tokyo,” the release, issued on Friday, said.
Rose will chair the US-Japan Space Security Dialogue scheduled for February 25, and will also deliver remarks at the Japan Space Forum on space situational awareness, according to the release.
Following the Japan visit, Rose will travel to India on March 5 for bilateral negotiations with India’s senior officials, and will chair first US-India Space Security Dialogue, the release said.
The Assistant Secretary’s trip will also include visiting Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore, where he will again discuss space security and multilateral arms control.
Multiple countries, especially China and Russia, pose a grave threat to US space security systems with advanced technologies they have developed that can disrupt satellite communications and operations, according the US Strategic Command head Cecil Haney.
