A bomb went off near a church in Santiago, the capital of Chile, on Saturday; according to officials no one was injured.
The bomb exploded in Las Condes neighborhood at 8:50 a.m. local time. Although there were a few people present nearby, no injuries or deaths were reported.
The police are working to find out who may have planted the bomb. “This incident should be investigated and punished. Nothing justifies such a violent act,” Santiago prosecutor Raul Guzman said.
The incident is the latest in a series of explosions that caused panic in the Chilean capital.
