GENEVA (Sputnik) — There is a high possibility that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry will meet the next week in Geneva, Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Monday.
"Rather high chances are present that Russian Foreign Minister and US Secretary of State will be in Geneva the next week due to schedules of each of them. Probably, it in itself implies that they will meet in bilateral format," he said.
Lavrov is expected to arrive in Geneva in the beginning of March. The foreign minister will speak at the 28th session of the United Nations Council on Human Rights, which will take place on March 2-27.
It is presumed that Lavrov and Kerry will discuss bilateral agenda as well as a number of international issues, including resolution of Ukrainian conflict and situation in Iraq and Syria.
