WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US Secretary of State John Kerry confirmed that he will be meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to discuss a variety of issues, according to the Secretary Kerry's statement during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing.
He added that in the coming week he will be "focused on Iran negotiations, and Ukraine, and Afghanistan," in addition to other matters.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Rybakov said on Monday that Lavrov and Kerry would likely conduct bilateral meetings in the coming week to address the conflict in Ukraine, as well as Syria and Iraq.
Both Lavrov and Kerry are expected to attend the 28th session of the United Nations Council on Human Rights in Geneva beginning on Monday, March 2.
