Earlier, at least five drone-related incidents were reported over central Paris by witnesses and police officers.
Law enforcers are investigating who could be behind the appearance of five separate drones the previous night.
The first drone sighting was reportedly near the US embassy in Paris; the Eiffel Tower, the Place de la Concorde and the Invalides military museum "were also flown over" in the early hours of Tuesday.
"It could be a coordinated action but we don't know for now. We did everything to try and catch the operators but they were not found," a source close to the investigation said.
France has seen a spate of mysterious drone appearances in the past couple of months.
On January 20, an unmanned aerial vehicle briefly flew over the presidential palace in Paris, while about 20 drones were earlier seen flying above nuclear power plants.
But until Tuesday, "there have never been so many drones appearing in one night," the source said.
Small civilian drones are banned from French nuclear facilities, which are protected by a no-fly zone.
