TEHRAN (Sputnik) — Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is planning to meet with US State Secretary John Kerry in the Swiss town of Montreux on March 3 for a next round of talks on the comprehensive nuclear deal, an Iranian diplomatic source told RIA Novosti on Thursday.
"Minister Zarif is planning to meet with US Secretary of State on Tuesday in Montreaux," the source close to nuclear talks said.
The meeting was confirmed separately in a US State Department statement earlier on Thursday.
The two diplomats held bilateral talks in Geneva on Monday following the plenary session of the P5+1 group on Iran's nuclear program in Geneva.
The latest deadline for P5+1 and Iran to sign a comprehensive agreement ensuring that Tehran does not develop nuclear weapons in the future has been slated for July 2015.
Despite Iran maintaining its uranium enrichment program is peaceful in nature, the UN Security Council and a number of countries have handed down a series of sanctions on Iran amid concerns to the contrary.
