Representatives of NATO member countries were invited to take part in the International Army Games which will be held in August 2015 in Russia, chief of the training section of the Russian engineer forces Colonel Valdislav Veryasov said.
"NATO countries will receive invitations," Veryasov said. "Let them watch and see that our units are ready to accomplish their tasks. There are no military secrets."
He explained that in the short term participants from across the world will be known. The Army Games will include a total of 12 contests, including two contests for engineer troops.
He added that during the event military engineers will help other units pass through obstacles and barriers.
Such competitions contribute to combat preparedness, according to Veryasov.
The International Army Games will be held August 1-15 2015 in Russia. The Russian Defense Ministry proposed to hold an opening ceremony on August 1 in Alabino, near Moscow. "Tank Biathlon" competitions are also planned to begin on August 1. Other contests will be held on August 3-13. The closing ceremony will take place August 15 in Alabino.
The decision to combine "Tank Biathlon", "Aviadarts" and other contests into the International Army Games was made due to the success of the 2014 competition.
