A vessel with 27 fishermen aboard was damaged after running aground in the Avachinsky bay, 80 kilometers (50 miles) away from the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
Seawater is flooding into the engine room through a hole in the hull, a source at the Maritime Rescue Sub Center at the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky seaport administration told RIA Novosti.
Nobody was injured in the incident, and the crew has food supplies enough to last 30 days.
A rescue helicopter was sent to the area. However, rescue operation was postponed until Monday due to strong winds. Later on Sunday a deep-sea tug will be sent to the scene of the incident.
