In late February, the Islamic State burned 45 people to death, including security forces members, in al-Baghdadi, after taking control over the town they have been besieging for months.
The ISIL jihadist group launched an offensive in Iraq in June 2014 and has since captured large parts of the country. The militants also control vast territories in Syria where they have been operating since 2012.
