“It is time for President Obama, Western leaders, and a coalition of freedom-loving nations to exercise leadership to stop the systematic killings of Christians. It is time for an end to this jihadi war against Christians,” Jacobson said.
Jacobson explained that the Islamic State has no intention of stopping the brutal murder of Christians “in the name of Muhammad”, and questioned whether Obama had a grasp of the clear and present danger the ISIL poses, especially in light of recent events.
Jacobson added he took exception to recent comments made by Obama equating the Islamic State’s actions with those committed by Christians during the Crusades and Inquisition.
“Does this comparison to a Medieval event have any bearing to what is happening today?” Jacobson asked.
CFI’s mission is to provide relief to persecuted Christians through Bible distribution, medical aid, resettlement assistance and vocational training, according to the group’s website.
The Islamic State is an extremist Sunni organization that has seized vast areas in Iraq and Syria, and declared the establishment of an Islamic caliphate over the territories it controls. It is responsible for a number of widely-publicized kidnappings and murders.
