Russian “Nordavia” airline is offering passengers a unique chance to watch the total solar eclipse from an unusual angle on March 20. The four-hour flight will cost 10,000 rubles ($165) and give passengers an unforgettable view of one of nature's wonders.
The flight will take off from Murmansk airport and will fly above the Barents and Norwegian seas, to provide the best view of the eclipse.
Several seats on the flight are reserved for journalists, astronomers and plane-spotters. Commercial tickets will be put on sale on March 4.
Astronomers say that the eclipse will also be partially visible from some parts Europe. For example Scotland, Northern Ireland, Norway and Greenland will see more than 90% of the Sun covered, and most of Europe, Canada, Russia and northern Africa will see at least 40% covered by the Moon.
The Celestial event will start at 07:41 UTC and continue up until 11:50 UTC.
