MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Iran branded Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to the US congress on Tehran's disputed nuclear program "boring and repetitive," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said.
"Netanyahu's lie-spreading campaign against Iran's peaceful nuclear programme has become boring and repetitive," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said Tuesday, as quoted by The Guardian newspaper.
Afkham also called the speech "piece of deceitful theatre," adding that it was part of Netanyahu's campaign for the upcoming elections in Israel.
Currently, the P5+1 group, comprising Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, China and the United States, is in intense diplomatic negotiations with Iran to reach a preliminary deal over the country's nuclear program by the end of March.
The UN Security Council and several countries have imposed several rounds of sanctions against Iran, accusing it of trying to develop nuclear weapons under the guise of a civilian nuclear program. Tehran has repeatedly rejected the claims, insisting that its nuclear activities have peaceful uses only.
