WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US self-defense product developer Taser International is not violating any ethical standards, the company's Public Relations Director Sydney Siegmeth told Sputnik in response to a media report alleging business misconduct.
“Our top priority is to deliver the highest quality products with the highest ethical standards,” Siegmeth said on Tuesday. “We always have done so, and will continue to do so going forward.”
Additionally, the report said the police chiefs were sometimes hired as consultants, only months after they signed the contracts to purchase the Taser equipment.
Chief Ray Schultz of the Albuquerque Police Department was unavailable to be reached for comment on his possible involvement as he has left the department, Albuquerque Police Department Public Information Officer Tanner Tixier told Sputnik on Tuesday.
Taser International is an American developer, manufacturer, and distributor of self-defense products like the Taser electroshock gun and Taser body cameras.
