The rally is organized by the Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression group.
According to the group's Facebook page, 138 people are ready to attend the demonstration that will start at 12:00 CST (18:00 GMT) at West Fillmore Street.
The demonstrators said they seek the immediate closure of what they describe as a "torture house," call for the firing of Chicago Police chief Gary McCarthy, and demand the passage of a Torture Reparations Ordinance.
Participants of the upcoming rally have stated that they will demand Chicago police stations install signs offering free representation to anyone within the first 48 hours of their arrest.
On Wednesday, the group's online community organizer Frank Chapman told Sputnik that the rally is intended to bring public attention to the interrogation facility. He said that police did not give suspects detained at the Homen Square facility access to legal counsel. Chapman stated that suspects were routinely, illegally and sometimes violently detained without legal process.
Chapman characterized the practice as an affront to the United States system of justice.
