Two brothers, aged 16 and 17, were detained at Sydney Airport on suspicion of planning to travel to the Middle East to join Islamic State militants, Australia's Immigration and Border Protection Minister Peter Dutton said.
The official did not reveal their exact travel destination, saying only that the teens did not share their plans with their parents. The identities of the brothers have not been made public.
Approximately 100 Australians traveled to the Middle East to fight along Islamic extremists.
