The 100-meter-high “King’s Pathway” in Spain, the most dangerous walking path in the world, is now reopened with an extra security fence.

The infamous footpath “Caminito del Rey”, or “King’s Pathway”, in El Chorro, Malaga, is a narrow one meter wide walkway originally built for hydroelectric plant workers in 1905. It extends for three kilometers and rises over 100 meters above a local river.

King Alfonso XIII crossed it in 1921, thus granting the pathway its present name.

The walkway was closed for security reasons following several hikers’ deaths in 1999-2000. Many regard “Caminito del Rey” as the most dangerous path in the world.
