The test launch was aimed at reviewing various design and technical parameters of the weapon system at a maximum range. The successful launch, with its impact point in the Arabian Sea, was witnessed by senior officers from the strategic plans division, strategic forces, scientists and engineers of strategic organizations.
Director General of Strategic Plans Division Lieutenant General Zubair Mahmood Hayat called the test a major step towards strengthening Pakistan's deterrence capability.
Hayat congratulated the team and appreciated the technical expertise, dedication and commitment of the scientists who contributed to make this launch a success.
Last month Pakistan conducted a successful flight test of the indigenously developed Air Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM) Ra’ad. With a range of 350 kilometers, the Ra’ad missile enables Pakistan to achieve strategic standoff capability both on land and at sea as it uses extremely complex "Cruise Technology" that has been developed by only a few countries in the world, the Pakistan’s army had said.
Pakistan’s President Mamoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif both congratulated the scientists and engineers on their achievement.
