Archaeologists announced Monday that they have begun excavating the bones of 3,000 people that were buried in London in the 16th and 17th centuries.

The Crossrail project is one of Europe's biggest construction projects and the company said that more than 10,000 artefacts have been discovered so far in multiple excavations at some 40 different sites.
