"The Czech counter-intelligence has recently uncovered three Russian spies in Prague, who had to leave the territory of the Czech Republic without publicity," the radio said. "Their residence permits were simply not extended."
Russia responded by barring one Czech diplomat from entering its territory and by forcing another to leave.
Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) and the Russian Embassy in Prague declined to comment on the information.
In 2009, the Central European country expelled two other suspected Russian agents from Prague over their alleged activities in relation to nuclear energy, as well as oil and gas deliveries. Russia described this move as a provocation.
In the past months, Lithuania and Poland claimed they had arrested military officers who had purportedly spied for Russia.
