MOSCOW (Sputnik) — US citizens have once again named the government as the country’s largest problem, over issues such as terrorism and race relations, said a poll published Thursday.
The poll, conducted by Gallup, found that 18 percent of respondents believe “dissatisfaction with government” to be the biggest problem facing the country today, up one percentage point from January and February. The issue has appeared at the top of the polls over the past year.
This is followed by the economy at 11 percent and unemployment at 10 percent.
Terrorism placed sixth with six percent, down two percentage points from last month, while issues including poverty, race relations and the Islamic State share the seventh place at four percent.
The data is based on telephone interviews with over 1,000 adults living in all US states and the District of Columbia, carried out between March 5 and 8.
