SHARM EL-SHEIKH (Sputnik) — Russian government does not consider a possibility of response to Switzerland's blacklist expansion intended to prevent the circumvention of EU's anti-Russia sanctions, Russian Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev said Saturday.
“We have not discussed the possibility of such measures,” Ulyukayev told reporters.
Last week, Switzerland added 19 people and nine organizations to its list, aimed at preventing the country from being used for bypassing Western anti-Russia sanctions.
Over the past year, the European Union and its allies have introduced a series of sanctions against Russia, blaming Moscow for its alleged interference in the Ukrainian internal affairs. The Kremlin repeatedly stated that it is not a party to the Ukrainian conflict, and insisted on a peaceful dialogue between the warring parties.
Switzerland, which is not a member of the European Union but linked with the bloc by trade agreements, decided not to join the EU's anti-Russia sanctions, however implemented its own blacklist to make sure that undermining of the restrictions would be impossible.
