Pavel Kováčik, a Communist member of the Czech parliament, believes that the EU must face up to the growing neo-Nazi sentiment and glorification of the regime, which killed millions in its insatiable lust for world dominion.
The call rings particularly relevant in the walkup to the 70th anniversary of the Allied Victory over Nazi Germany.

/ “The European Union must respond in a most decisive manner to pro-Nazi activities, especially now that we are going to mark seventy years since the end of WW2. We must never forget those who fell fighting Nazism and those who survived in that fight and still bear painful memories of the atrocities committed by the Nazis,” Pavel Kováčik told Sputnik Czech edition.
Meanwhile, nearly 1,000 people took part in the annual march of Waffen SS veterans that was held in the Latvian capital of Riga on Monday. Also on Monday, several anti-fascist organizations staged a counter-demonstration in Riga.
The commemoration, held annually since 1998, takes place March 16.
The Latvian Legion of the Nazi Germany's Waffen-SS was created in 1943. The unit surrendered in May 1945 among the other Nazi forces.
