Former US Airman Accused of Trying to Join ISIL

Tairod Nathan Webster Pugh, a former United States Air Force airman was indicted by a grand jury on suspicion of trying to join the terror group, the Justice Department reported. 

Pugh was arrested upon his return to the United States in January, CNN reported. He’s scheduled to appear in federal court in New York City on Wednesday.

According to the indictment, Pugh tried to destroy four USB thumb drives containing files and images prior to his arrest.
