Sierra Leone Vice President Sacked for Seeking Asylum in US Embassy
Sam-Sumana had asked for asylum at the US embassy in Freetown after soldiers encircled his residence on Saturday.
Sierra Leone’s Vice President Samuel Sam-Sumana was sacked by President Ernest Bai Koroma for seeking asylum in the US embassy, a statement from the president's office said on Wednesday.
Sam-Sumana had asked for asylum at the embassy in Freetown in fear for his life after soldiers encircled his residence following his expulsion from the ruling party last week.
