MOSCOW, March 20 (Sputnik) – The Central Criminal Court in London convicted 19-year-old Brusthom Ziamani, who was arrested August 2014 while in possession of a knife and a hammer, of a terror plot to behead a British soldier.
The court heard Ziamani was inspired by the murder of Rigby.
Ziamani is reported to have been born in London to Congolese parents. He was raised as a Jehovah's Witness before converting to Islam, last year.
Lee Rigby, a soldier in the British army, was beheaded in south-east London on May 22, 2013.
Rigby's murderers Michael Adebowale and Michael Adebolajo, both Britons of Nigerian descent, were sentenced to a minimum of 45 years and life imprisonment respectively.
