US State Secretary to Visit Afghanistan Later in 2015

US State Secretary John Kerry announced at a joint press conference with Afghan leaders at Camp David that he will visit Kabul later in 2015 to hold meetings with Afghan Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani.

The US military compensated Afghan families for civilian deaths and injuries as part of its counterinsurgency strategy, which rests upon winning support of the local population, according to a report published by the online publication The Intercept - Sputnik International
US to Support 352,000 Strong Afghan Security Force
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Kerry explained that his meeting with Rabbani will be the first since 2013 on implementing the US-Afghan strategic partnership agreement.

“Later this year, I will be travelling to Kabul to join Foreign Minister Rabbani in hosting a meeting of the commission [on 2012 Enduring Strategic Partnership Agreement],” Kerry said on Monday.

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah and other senior members of the Afghan government are visiting the United States for bilateral talks.

US President Barack Obama is scheduled to meet with President Ghani at the White House on Tuesday.
