On March 4, the US Department of Justice released another report that found the FPD and the Ferguson municipal court intentionally racially profiled African-Americans, and violated their constitutionally-protected rights.
“I know that they have made a lot progress in terms of putting that review together, I would anticipate that you would see the results of that review in the next few days,” Earnest stated when asked about the status of review.
The report will include “very detailed recommendations about needed reforms,” he noted, adding that it may not released just this week, but “soon.”
The Justice Department announced it would work with the Ferguson authorities to reform the city’s and surrounding municipalities’ law enforcement practices.
The investigation into Ferguson’s law enforcement practices was conducted after the FPD killed African American teenager Michael Brown, sparking mass protests throughout the United States.
