German businessman Sven Stute was late for the doomed Germanwings flight due to a business meeting.
"I was in Barcelona on a business trip and I was late due to a protracted meeting," the man told the German TV channel N-24. Sven said he wanted first to take a ticket for another flight, but then learned from the media that the plane had crashed.
In order to get back, the businessman rented a car and drove 16 hours and 1450 km to Düsseldorf.
Stute said that on the one hand, he feels relieved, but on the other, he is shocked and expressed his deep condolences to the families and friends of the victims.
According to the official data, the passengers came from Germany, Spain, Britain, the Netherlands, Colombia, Mexico, Denmark, Belgium, Israel, Australia, Iran, Venezuela and the United States.
