Arab League Summit Kicks Off in Sharm El-Sheikh Amid Yemen Crisis
SHARM EL-SHEIKH (Sputnik) — The joint military operation of Saudi Arabia and its Arab Gulf allies against Houthi rebels in Yemen will continue until its goals are reached, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud said Saturday.

“Operation 'Decisive Storm' will continue until all goals are fulfilled,” the king said at the Arab League Summit in Egypt’s resort of Sharm El-Sheikh.

This came after the military offensive against Houthis, who control most of Yemen, targeted militants’ positions for the third night. Dozens of people, including children, died in air strikes since the operation began on Wednesday.

The operation involves Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Morocco, Pakistan, with intelligence, targeting and logistical support from the United States.

It was launched at request of Yemen’s ousted president Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, who fled the country earlier this week, first to Saudi Arabia and then to Egypt, where he pleaded for help with the Arab League.

Yemen is currently suffering from political unrest and clashes between Houthi opposition forces and President Hadi's loyalists.
