MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Spanish police detained 30-year-old Moroccan national in Madrid on suspicion of spreading radical Islamist ideology and supporting January attack on Charlie Hebdo satirical magazine office in Paris, Spanish media reported Saturday.
The Moroccan was reportedly publishing controversial and offensive materials both in Arabic and in Castilian Spanish, expressing support for terrorist activities. Some materials praised terror attack on Charlie Hebdo office.
The office of Charlie Hebdo magazine, known for its satirical depictions of political and religious figures, including the Prophet Muhammad, was attacked by gunmen in early January.
Twelve people, including the editor-in-chief, were killed in the attack.
