SANAA, March 28 (Sputnik) — Saudi-led international coalition launched another series of airstrikes Saturday destroying the airport runway in the western Yemeni city Hudaydah, a local source told Sputnik.

“In response to the bombing of the airport in Hudaydah, Yemeni air defense forces have been returning fire for half an hour, but despite that the airport’s runway has been destroyed,” the source said.
According to Sputnik’s source in Yemen, the locals residing in the airport area had to leave their homes because of the bombings.
Hudaydah is Yemen’s second most important port after Aden. It is also the administrative centre of the country’s most populous governorate.
