"There was a blackout in 342 localities in seven areas on the night of March 29 to March 30, as a result of adverse weather conditions (rain, sleet, squally wind) and due to activation of systems for the protection of power lines," Ukraine's State Emergency Service said in a statement Monday.
Among the areas affected by the stormy weather were the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Zaporizhia, Odesa and Sumy regions.
Ukraine's energy services are currently working to restore power to the areas.
